Getting Started in CARNAGE

The first ten minutes under Xebeth, without wasting a lobby.

CARNAGE Getting Started

You spawn, a wheel spins, and an eccentric host named Xebeth tells you this is a killing game. That is the whole tutorial if you skip dialogue. This page is the version that keeps you alive through chapter one.

CARNAGE is already out on Roblox. It is still ALPHA, so expect rough edges, weekly patches, and systems that appear mid-season (codes, tickets, new weapons). The bones below have been stable: handbook, Ultimate, hunger, furniture, report, Trial.

Before you walk anywhere

  1. Watch the Ultimate wheel. You can reveal later. Do not announce a strong investigative role in chat unless you want to be first body.
  2. Press M and find the handbook pages: Ultimate text, report card, and later the code field.
  3. Learn sprint: double-tap W, hold the walk button, or L2 on a pad. Stamina matters for Athlete and for running from a loud gunshot.
  4. Note skip-dialogue keys: E, Space, Enter, or click. You will need them when Xebeth talks over a body.

The full bind list is on controls. Come back here for the why.

Hunger, food, and why Chemist exists

You get hungry. Xebeth Cola restores a little. Steak restores a lot. Cook can make steak. Chemist can scan line-of-sight food for C9 poison. If you eat everything you see, you will die to a quiet kill that leaves no blood. That is not unlucky. That is the weapon list doing its job.

Carry food only when you must. Eat in public if you can. A private snack is how C9 players farm.

Furniture is the armory

Weapons hide in searchable furniture. Knife and Toy Hammer are loud in different ways. Gloves leave no blood. Gun is a siren. C4 and Explosive Collar are bombs. Gasoline burns. Lucky Student can pull a weapon from an empty search. Weapon Artist can pull more than one. If someone leaves while holding a weapon, it returns to the furniture they found it in — a fact investigators forget.

You can hold a default weapon and a static weapon at the same time. Static weapons from tasks are alibis and accusations. Read how to play before you pick one up just to look cool.

Tasks are optional on purpose

Area 1, 2, and 5 have tasks that pay intelligence, strength, or a static weapon. They are not required to win. They are required if you want a reason to be somewhere when a body drops. Empty wandering is how people get listed as “no alibi” in Trial. Use map and tasks once you know the building names.

What to do when you see a body

Hold Q or E, or hold the on-screen prompt, to report. You can also drag (hold the same keys, tap S to walk while dragging). Reporting starts investigation and then Trial. Dragging can hide or move a body — useful for Blackened, suspicious for Spotless. Details sit in Blackened and Trials.

If this is your first lobby, report. Do not practice hiding corpses until you have won a clean match. The win condition is three living players including you, not a highlight reel.

A first-session checklist

  • Redeem anything still alive on the codes hub.
  • Skim the Ultimates roster so your wheel result means something.
  • Survive one chapter without picking up a loud weapon.
  • Speak once in Trial with a fact, not a vibe.

Then read how to win. Getting started is over the moment you understand why three survivors is the finish line.

Wiki FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for this CARNAGE page.

Do I have to kill to win CARNAGE?

No. You can win as Spotless by voting well and outlasting the field. Killing makes you Blackened and puts you on trial.

Should I reveal my Ultimate immediately?

Usually no. Reveal when the information helps a Trial or when a passive like Supreme Leader needs to be public. See Ultimates.

Where do I redeem codes after I spawn?

Handbook (M), report-card or profile tab. Full steps: how to redeem.

Is CARNAGE single-player?

No. It is an online Roblox lobby. You need other participants for Trials and the three-player finish.
