CARNAGE Items Guide
Consumables, tools, and documents that shape every round.
Items in CARNAGE are objects with miscellaneous uses obtained by exploring the map, using ultimates, or granted in specific scenarios. Unlike weapons, most items are not used to kill — they sustain you, clean evidence, or deliver information. Knowing what each item does and when to use it is as important as knowing which weapon to grab.
Consumables — food and drink
Xebeth Cola
Restores 30 hunger upon consumption. Spawns on countertops and near vending-style machines in Areas 1, 2, and 4. Hunger affects sprint stamina — low hunger means slower movement and inability to sprint. Drink before a chase or when heading into Area 3 where food is scarce.
Steak
Restores 75 hunger upon consumption. Spawns in kitchen-adjacent rooms across all areas. Higher restoration than Xebeth Cola but appears less frequently. Area 3 funhouse has almost no Steak — plan accordingly before entering tight areas.
Note: Steaks used to be able to cause blackouts (which normally require weapons), but this was changed in a patch alongside the icon redraw.
Evidence tools
Blood Pack
Generates a blood spill upon being thrown. If a player is hit by a Blood Pack, vision is hindered briefly. Blackened players use this to plant false evidence — a blood spill in an unusual location can throw off an investigation. Spotless players can use it to obscure real crime scenes or frame others.
Mop
Cleans blood spills and pools. While the mop is equipped and dirty (has cleaned a spill), you cannot change items — you must finish cleaning or drop the mop. A critical tool for Blackened players after a kill and for Spotless players who discover a crime scene they want to preserve for the investigation phase.
Information items
Motive Letter
A letter given by Xebeth on some rounds. One player is asked to kill or else they die. This creates the motive pressure that drives the killing game forward. If you receive a Motive Letter, you have a timed obligation to kill or face a penalty. Read how to play for the full motive mechanics.
Xebeth File
Contains the general time, location, and cause of death of the victim for the trial. This is handed to players during the investigation phase after a body is reported. The file is one of the three pieces of evidence used in the Non-Stop Debate Truth Bullet phase of trials.

Strategic tips
- Before entering Area 3: Stock up on food. The funhouse has very scarce resources.
- After a kill: Grab a Mop immediately. A visible blood pool draws Spotless players to the crime scene faster.
- False blood frames: Throw a Blood Pack in a high-traffic area before killing to create confusion.
- Motive Letter holders: If you see someone acting erratically near the end of a chapter timer, they may hold a Motive Letter and feel forced to act.
